The Pearl is Wasiri Rasu Gajaman's first coffee table book, a collection of stunning nature and wildlfe photographs, shot in Sri Lanka. He has been involvied with photography since 2005 and has visited many scenic, hidden locations in Sri Lanka. He has explored the country from Point of Dondra to Point Pedru and from deep sea to the highest mountain in Central Highlands.

He also has visited many national parks, sanctuaries, nature reserves and protected forests in the island. His photography methods include black and white photography, color photography, macro photography, aerial photography and underwater photography. As a result he is the owner of some thousands of photographs of elusive animals and rare behaviors. Some stunning 200 photographs are included in this book with a little description of the common name, scientific name and camera details etc.

 Wasiri Rasu Gajaman is a Medical Officer with 21 years of experience and currently working as a Medical Officer in Charge in Ranna Divisional Hospital. He is a past pupil of Kumarathungu Munidas Maha Viduhala, Dikwella, Gamin' Maha Vidyalaya, Nakulugamuwa, and St. Thomas Boys' College, Matara. He was graduated MBBS in 1999 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ruhuna and started working as a doctor in the General Hospital, Matara in 2000. He started photography as a hobby in 2005 with a small point-and-shoot camera, which was gifted to him by his elder brother.  "The Pearl" is his debut book.

Shipping / Delivery :

We at Barefoot, will professionally and to the best of our ability and experience,  package all your orders in durable material to prevent wear-and-tear in transit. Our packing is carried out in house and logistics is handled by a professional forwarder or courier that operates throughout the week. 

Shipping in Sri Lanka:

  • We provide delivery Islandwide on prepaid orders. Standard delivery charges, which will be made known to you when accepting your order,  will apply on all cash/credit delivery orders. 
  • Colombo City Limits: Upto1st Kilogram Rs:450/- each additional Kilogram or part thereof will be an additional Rs:150/- 
  • Outside of Colombo: Delivery fee will be calculated based on weight of the order. 
  • We are ready to dispatch most orders the very next day or within 2-3 working days. Any custom orders may take longer, a delivery date for the same will be provided via email. Delivery to areas with remote connectivity may also take a longer period.
  • All orders will be delivered to the address mentioned at the time of placing the order. To ensure timely delivery and avoid misplacement, we request you to provide your complete address and check thoroughly before submitting.
  • In case the delivery is not accepted in the first attempt, the cost of re-shipping the products will have to be borne by the customer.
